NWS Detroit will no longer issue Frost Advisories or Freeze Warnings as of October 15, 2024 for the remainder of the cold season. The growing season has come to an end across Southeast Lower Michigan. While Southeast Lower Michigan has yet to receive a widespread killing freeze, the lowering sun angle has all but ended the growing season across the region. In addition, we have reached the climatological average for first freeze for most locations across Southeast Lower Michigan. Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings will be issued again at the start of the next growing season in the spring of 2025.
