Experimental Tabular Open Lake Forecast for Lake Huron
National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI
407 PM EST Mon Jan 12 2026

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Moderate wind and mild temperatures are in place between larger
scale weather systems today which continues tonight as the next low
pressure system, 29.20 inches, moves toward the Great Lakes. This
system moves across northern Ontario Tuesday and brings a light rain
and snow mix to Lake Huron and Lower Michigan. The low pivots
through the region Tuesday night into Wednesday, eventually forcing
a cold frontal passage. This leads to a changeover to snow with the
possibility for a period of post-frontal gales late Wednesday.
