Detroit Metro has yet to hit 90 degrees this year. 3 times in history did the metro fail to hit that mark. 1882, 1907, and 1915 were years where the hottest temp all year was in the upper 80s. While 2013 in Detroit is close to normal for temperature data this meteorological summer, the DTW site has just not hit the big "9-0".

By contrast, in the year 1936, Detroit had its hottest week. The Detroit area reached 100 degrees or more for 7 straight days, with no precipitation! The average max temperature during that stretch was 102.1 degrees.
