A deep low pressure system tracked along the Appalachian Mountains on March 10th. The low pressure center retrograded and became nearly stationary over the Eastern Great Lakes through March 11, causing moderate snow in Southeast Michigan. Eastern areas of the thumb were hit hardest with reports of 7.0 inches as of 10am March 11th. Much of the Detroit Metro area received 2-4" of snow.
