Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall in the Central U.S.; Heat Building in the Western U.S.

A cold front pressing east across the central U.S. will be the focus for areas of strong to severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall through this weekend. Strong to severe thunderstorms my bring damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes while excessive rainfall may lead to areas of flooding. Winter Spotter Training

NEW for 2020, we are excited to offer a special winter spotter course! This class covers winter weather science, the winter 2020-2021 outlook, how to measure and report winter weather to NWS, and many resource available to stay up-to-date on the forecast. Live classes were offered in early November, and a recording of the talk is available below. You do NOT need to be an official spotter for our office to attend! This webinar will focus on northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but those outside our region are also welcome to watch.
