.FEBRUARY 2018 WAS COLDER AND WETTER THAN NORMAL AT DULUTH MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR FEBRUARY WAS 10.3 DEGREES WHICH WAS 4.8 
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 15.1 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE 
FOR THE MONTH WAS 43 DEGREES ON THE 26TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 
-17 DEGREES ON THE 4TH. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN 
THIS MONTH. EIGHT DAYS HAD AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL.

FEBRUARY 2018 WAS ABOVE NORMAL FOR PRECIPITATION WITH A TOTAL OF 
1.73 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION RECORDED FOR THE MONTH. THIS WAS 0.92 
INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 0.81 INCHES. THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF 
PRECIPITATION IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD OCCURRED ON THE 24TH TO 25TH WHEN 
0.49 INCHES WAS RECORDED. AT LEAST A TRACE OF PRECIPITATION WAS 
RECORDED ON 17 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.01 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL ON 
12 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.10 INCHES FELL ON 6 DAYS. NO DAILY PRECIPITATION

SNOWFALL OF 3.6 INCHES WAS SET BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 3.0 
INCHES SET IN 1955. ON THE 23RD A RECORD SNOWFALL OF 3.4 INCHES WAS 
SET BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 2.8 INCHES SET IN 1996. 

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE MONTH WAS 11.1 MPH. THE WINDIEST DAY 
OF THE MONTH WAS ON THE 25TH WITH AN AVERAGE WIND OF 17.7 MPH. THE 
HIGHEST SUSTAINED WIND OCCURRED ON THE 25TH WITH A WIND FROM THE 
WEST AT 30 MPH. A PEAK WIND GUST OF 37 MPH FROM THE WEST NORTHWEST 
WAS RECORDED ON THE 25TH. 

THERE WERE 1526 HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE MONTH WHICH WAS 127

FOR THE MONTH WAS 48 DEGREES ON THE 14TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 
-34 DEGREES ON THE 4TH. ONE DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORD WAS BROKEN FOR 
THE MONTH. ON THE 14TH THE RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 48

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR FEBRUARY WAS 8.4 DEGREES WHICH WAS 8.2 
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 16.6 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE 
FOR THE MONTH WAS 44 DEGREES ON THE 28TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 
-24 DEGREES 6TH. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN FOR 
THE MONTH. SIX DAYS HAD AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL.
