Fall 2016 was warmer and drier than

normal precipitation at Duluth MN

The average temperature for the Fall season was 49.2 degrees which was 6.7 degrees above the normal of 42.5 degrees. This was the 3rd warmest Fall on record at Duluth. 7.67 inches of precipitation was recorded for the season which was 1.38 inches below the normal of 9.05 inches. 8.1 inches of snow fell for the season which was 8.0 inches below the normal of 16.1 inches.

Fall 2016 was warmer than normal with

above normal precipitation at International Falls MN

The average temperature for the Fall season was 46.3 degrees which was 6.2 degrees above the normal of 40.1 degrees. This was the 3rd warmest Fall on record at International Falls. 6.61 inches of precipitation was recorded for the season which was 0.16 inches above the normal of 6.45 inches. 8.4 inches of snow fell for the season which was 7.6 inches below the normal of 16.0 inches.

Normal highs for the Duluth begin in the upper 20's in early December and cool to the upper teen above zero by mid January. By the end of February highs warm back up tot he upper 20's. Normal lows start in the mid teens above zero in early December and cool to near zero by mid January. By the end of February low warms up to the low teens above zero. Normal precipitation for the Winter is 2.98 inches. Normal snowfall for the Winter is 49.5 inches. 

Normal highs for International Falls begin in the mid 20's in early December and by mid January cool to the mid teens above zero. By the end of February normal highs warm to the upper 20's. Normal lows start in the single digits above zero in early December and cool to the single digits below zero by mid January. By the end of February normal lows warm back up to the single digits above zero. Normal precipitation for the Winter is 2.00 inches. Normal snowfall for the Winter is 40.8 inches.

For both locations the latest Climate Prediction Center (CPC) outlook indicates that there is a chance of below normal temperatures with a chance of above normal precipitation.
