Showers and Thunderstorms from the Great Lakes into the Southern Plains

Frontal boundary and wave of low pressure will keep an active weather pattern from the Great Lakes region through the southern Plains the next couple of days. Isolated instances of severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are possible. This was the 2nd warmest opening to a first week of September in Duluth weather history. The average temperature for the first seven days of the month averaged 69.6 degrees.  The warmest such stretch occurred in 1971 with an average temperature of 71.1 degrees.
