Dave L. Michaud is currently the Director of the National Weather Service’s (NWS) Office of Central Processing. He is responsible for managing NWS central processing systems, ensuring the flow of information from the collection of observations to central guidance production to local applications of all weather and climate data products, and continuity of public watches and warnings. In addition, he provides strategic direction and manages the allocation of resources for the Weather and Climate Operational Supercomputing System, the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), hydrology information technology initiatives, and the information technology infrastructure supporting NWS national centers and field operations.

Operations and Management (O&M)

This group oversees the day-to-day operations of AWIPS (maintenance, local sites, software updates, security patching, and equipment) and manages the AWIPS Network Control Facility (NCF). O&M is a comprehensive of the software and hardware maintenance of all NWS Regional Headquarters (WFOs, National Centers from Environmental Prediction (NCEP), and RFCs.

Technology Engineering Applications and Management (TEAM)
