Heat Persists in the Southwest; Elevated to Critical Fire Weather in the Great Basin; Poor Air Quality in the West

Dangerous heat will persist across the Southwest U.S. through this week, easing by next week. The heat will focus further east in the Great Plains and Mississippi Valley beginning next week. Severe Weather Spotters are a vital link in the timely and accurate flow of weather information into and out of weather forecast offices. Click here to learn more. Storm Spotter training is available to the public as conducted by the local NOAA/NWS Forecast Office on an annual scheduled basis.
