...PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT...
DAMAGE SURVEYS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IN RICHLAND AND MORROW COUNTIES
IN NORTH CENTRAL OHIO.
SEVERAL AREAS OF DAMAGE WERE REPORTED IN SOUTHERN RICHLAND COUNTY
BETWEEN BELLVILLE AND LEXINGTON. A SWATH OF TREES WAS DOWNED ALONG
BELLVILLE JOHNSVILLE ROAD/ROUTE 29. A LITTLE FARTHER NORTH ON
MOCK ROAD A MOBILE HOME WAS ROLLED OVER AND DESTROYED. THE PERSON
IN THE HOME WAS INJURED AND WAS HOSPITALIZED. AT INTERSTATE 71 AND
ROUTE 97 A GAS STATION AND HOTEL SUSTAINED DAMAGE. TREES WERE
DOWNED IN THE SAME AREA.
THIS DAMAGE IN SOUTHERN RICHLAND COUNTY APPEARED TO BE STRAIGHT
LINE WIND DAMAGE. RADAR INDICATED A BOW ECHO MOVING THROUGH THE
AREA BETWEEN 855 PM AND 9 PM AND IT LIKELY PRODUCED A SERIES OF
MICROBURSTS. DOPPLER RADAR WIND SPEEDS INDICATED WIND SPEEDS AS
HIGH AS 80 MPH OCCURRED.
A FEW TREES AND POWER LINES WERE REPORTED DOWNED AS WELL AS OTHER
MINOR DAMAGE AT OTHER LOCATIONS IN SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL RICHLAND
COUNTY.
IN MORROW COUNTY...A MOBILE HOME SUSTAINED ROOF DAMAGE AND A
SMALL BARN WAS DESTROYED ON TOWNSHIP ROAD 55 NEAR
JOHNSVILLE/SHAUK. SIX TREES WERE ALSO DOWNED AT THE SITE. A BARN
WAS DAMAGED ON TOWNSHIP ROAD 56.
THIS DAMAGE IN MORROW COUNTY APPEARED TO BE STRAIGHT LINE WIND
DAMAGE. RADAR INDICATED A BOW ECHO MOVING THROUGH THE AREA BETWEEN
830 PM AND 855 PM AND IT LIKELY PRODUCED A SERIES OF MICROBURSTS.
WIND SPEEDS UP TO 75 MPH MAY HAVE OCCURRED.
A FEW TREES AND POWER LINES WERE DOWNED AS WELL AS OTHER MINOR
DAMAGE AT OTHER LOCATIONS IN MORROW COUNTY.
