This graphic shows the approximate snowfall totals for the lake effect snow event that spanned December 5 - December 9. A widespread area received a foot or more of snow. Lake effect snow bands were drawn well inland affecting even the Akron and Youngstown areas in addition to the traditional snowbelt. Those traditional spots in the higher terrain of northeast Ohio received around 2 feet of snow. In northwest Pennsylvania, storm totals added up to over 4 feet! Snow began on Sunday and continued with significant impact through Wednesday. |
