The Fourth of July is one of the most awaited holidays of the summer, as citizens prepare for parades, picnics, and fireworks. For residents of northern Ohio and NW Pennsylvania, Independence Day is anticipated as a holiday that defines summer with numerous outdoor activities. However, weather is an important factor for how successful the holilday is, as excessive heat or heavy rain can put a damper on festivities. The tables below shows the statistics for what a typical July 4th is like weather-wise for our six climate sites. As you can see, this area typically has high temperatures in the low 80s and overnight lows in the low 60s.
For 2015, the holiday weekend looks to be on par with historical averages. Temperatures will range from the upper 70s to low 80s for highs and lows will be around the 60 degree mark. Rain chances look very low, but we cannot rule out an isolated shower in southeastern areas on Friday Night/Saturday morning. Any rain that falls will be light and not accumulate to more than a couple hundreths of an inch. Cloud cover with peeks of sun should be in place across the area for much of Friday and into Saturday, but skies should clear by Saturday night, if not sooner. (Forecast made at 1:30pm on July 2 and is subject to change.)
The National Weather Service in Cleveland wishes you a nice holiday weekend!
