Atmospheric River in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies this Weekend

A Pacific storm and atmospheric river will impact the Pacific Northwest states and northern Rockies this weekend, bringing locally heavy low elevations rain and heavy high elevation snow in the mountains. Overview

A strong low pressure system brought heavy snow to portions of the area starting late Friday night April 22nd and persisting through Sunday April 24th. Blizzard conditions impacted southeast Montana, especially on Saturday, which included strong and gusty winds along with the visibility being reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times.  This storm system also brought beneficial moisture to the area including snowfall that contained a high moisture content.
