Memorial Day is a federal holiday for remembering the men and women who died while serving in the armed forces of the United States. Memorial Day originally was celebrated on May 30th since the mid 1800s. The Uniform Monday Holiday Act moved the date of remembrance to the last Monday in May. Memorial Day will occur between the 25th and 31st of May. The highest temperature recorded on Memorial Day was 92F on May 29, 2006.
