JULY 24 1967 A tornado touched down at Ashford station in Cattaraugus county around 4pm. The small tornado demolished a house, a barn, and a summer cabin, snapped utility poles, and uprooted trees.
A torrential downpour accompanied by 50 mph winds struck Dunkirk early in the day damaging trees and disrupting electric power.
Thunderstorms were numerous across western new York. A man was killed in Elma by a falling tree. Some minor flooding and small unverified twisters were reported in Alden and Cattaraugus county. 1999 Severe thunderstorms developed across the counties along the south shore of Lake Ontario including Niagara, Orleans, Monroe and Wayne. The thunderstorms produced downpours and strong winds. The damaging winds downed trees and power lines with scattered outages reported. Niagara County Sheriff reported several roads blocked by fallen trees and limbs. 2001 Thunderstorms developed rapidly across parts of the Eastern Lake Ontario counties. The thunderstorm winds downed trees in Schroeppel, just east of Fulton. 2003 Thunderstorms during the afternoon hours produced hail of three-quarters to an inch in diameter. Hail was reported in Mayville, Ripley, Gaines, Lockport and East Amherst.
