Mother's Day first became a national holiday in 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation, which set aside the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. Mother's Day can fall between May 8th and May 14th. The highest temperature recorded on Mother's Day was 83F on May 14, 1961. The lowest temperature recorded on Mother's Day was 32 degrees set on May 12, 1963. Normally, the high temperature averages 66F degrees and the low 47F degrees on Mother's Day.
