A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for southeastern St. Lawrence County where lake effect snow is expected to develop Thanksgiving Day. Additionally, breezy winds are expected across the region making for some blustery conditions. For additional details, you can visit weather.gov/btv/winter and be sure to monitor the forecast as we get closer.
Blustery weather and localized lake effect snow in St. Lawrence County into the western Adirondacks will develop on Thanksgiving, then more isolated upslope snow showers will develop across Vermont later in the day.
NOAA Weather Radio station WXM-44, transmitting from Mt. Ascutney, Vermont, on frequency 162.475 MHz is non-operational at this time. NWS technicians have diagnosed the problem but repairs will likely not be able to occur for quite some time due to circumstances beyond our control. Therefore, the time of return to service is currently unknown.
