Tracking Weekend Storm Impacts

A storm and trailing cold front will continue to slowly move through the Gulf Coast and Southeast U.S. through this weekend with widespread rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will warm today back into the 20s to low 30s. While most areas will be mostly cloudy and dry, Southern Vermont will see some early morning snow flakes, along with parts of NY this afternoon, especially closer to the international boarder. Sunday will see highs in the teens to mid 20s with afternoon and evening snow across the region. Snow is expected to be 1" to 4" through Sunday Night.
NOAA Weather Radio station WXM-44, transmitting from Mt. Ascutney, Vermont, on frequency 162.475 MHz is non-operational at this time. NWS technicians have diagnosed the problem but repairs will likely not be able to occur for quite some time due to circumstances beyond our control. Therefore, the time of return to service is currently unknown.
