Record setting heat is expected over the next several days from the Intermountain West through the northern Plains. Furthermore, fire weather concerns increase with dry and breezy conditions. Here is an outlook for the week ahead. Very hot temperatures today will cool a bit Monday, but warmer than normal conditions will persist through the week. Thunderstorm potential increases by midweek. Storms could produce erratic wind gusts and local downpours.
