Binghamton, NY
Weather Forecast Office
The Binghamton Office of the National Weather Service is hosting a "Town Hall" meeting and panel discussion about Flood Inundation Mapping Services.
The meeting open to the public.
Service Hydrologist, Jim Brewster will discuss the flood inundation mapping services available on the National Weather Service's Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service web page. The presentation will focus on the Susquehanna River at Owego and provide attendees with an in depth look at available flood extent and inundation maps. The discussion will show how these tools can be used by residents, the business community, and local officials to plan and identify areas of flood hazards and their degree of impact at certain levels on the river.
A question and answer panel discussion with National Weather Service, NY State Emergency Management officials, and the United States Geological Survey will follow the presentation.
