National Program
Each day, all 21 CWSUs provide 3 weather briefings to FAA controllers and those in the aviation community for situational awareness and to address safety concerns.
A National Weather Service team of four Center Weather Service Unit (CWSU) members along with one representative from the National Weather Services Aviation and Space Weather Services Branch (AFS24) has been working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to make sure the three daily Pre-Duty Weather Briefings (PDWB) are compliant with the requirements in the Statement of Work between the two agencies. In addition, the teams have been working together to adjust the briefings based on feedback provided. Learn more about the changes.
Archived PWDB videos are accessible online through NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).
