Freezing Temperatures in the Panhandles |
Below is a table containing the record earliest and latest freezes for many locations around the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. Normally the first freeze occurs in mid-October, and the last freeze occurs in mid-April. As the table shows, freezing temperatures have been recorded as early as September 15 (1993 - Lipscomb, TX) and as late as May 28 (1907 - Beaver, OK & 1947 - Hooker, OK). Some stations may have missing observations in their periods of record, though records from the existing data are presented.
