Critical to Extremely Critical Fire Weather in the Southern Plains; Heavy Snow in the Northern Rockies

Gusty winds and very dry conditions will lead to a critical to extremely critical fire weather threat over portions of the Central and Southern Plains Thursday. Critical fire weather continues through Friday. Moderate to heavy mountain snow and strong winds will expand into the Northern Rockies Thursday, then into Colorado by Friday. Overview

A broken line of thunderstorms moved through eastern New York and Western New England between 4 pm and 9 pm on June 26th. Several reports of wind damage occurred with the storms. The damage mainly consisted of downed trees and limbs. The worst damage occurred in Mechanicville, NY, where a microburst was confirmed with estimated winds up to 95 mph. Dozens of trees were snapped or uprooted, and a baseball dugout was destroyed.
