There is a a potential for heavy rainfall across the area starting as early as early late Saturday Night and continuing into Monday as a cold front arrives and perhaps combines with the moisture from Hurricane Lorena from the Pacific.
Temperatures will be hot today and some locations will have highs in the triple digits. Rain chances will increase this weekend and temperatures will be cooler.

August monthly rainfall was below normal at Abilene and slightly above normal at San Angelo. Temperatures for the month averaged slightly above normal at Abilene and slightly below normal at San Angelo. The number of days with temperatures 100 degrees or more were 10 at Abilene and 7 at San Angelo.
