A powerful winter storm will continue to create hazardous travel conditions overnight and into Wednesday morning. Widespread snow will persist through Wednesday, with the heaviest additional accumulations expected in north-central Idaho and northwest Montana. Blowing and drifting snow may lead to blizzard-like conditions across the Flathead Valley and the Glacier Park region. Dangerous wind chills, ranging from -20°F to -40°F, will increase the risk of frostbite along the Divide and in the Glacier Park region.
Another round of light to moderate snowfall is expected Thursday into Friday. While the main focus will be along and south of Interstate 90 in Montana and along and south of Highway 12 in Idaho, precipitation could spread into northwest Montana as well. Winter travel conditions will persist.
