Heavy Rainfall in the Southwest; Scattered Severe Thunderstorms in the Mid-Atlantic

Heavy rainfall and the potential for flooding will continue through this evening in the Southwest, with particular concern for flooding over recent burn scars and higher terrain. Highs climb into the lower 90s through the rest of the workweek and lows will dip into the 70s. Scattered to numerous showers and storms will pop up each day, mainly from late morning into the afternoon hours, and these storms could bring brief heavy downpours, lightning strikes, and gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph with them. Remember to pack an umbrella or rain poncho on your way out the door the next few mornings!
