Severe Weather Threat in the Southern U.S.; Snow in the Upper Midwest and Upper Great Lakes

Moderate to locally heavy snow is expected today across the Upper Midwest, moving into the Upper Great Lakes tonight. New snow amounts of 6 to 8 inches are expected. Further south, severe thunderstorms are expected from eastern Texas into the Middle Mississippi Valley this afternoon and evening. A high wind warning for Southwest Phillips county & Petroleum county is in effect from 3AM Monday to 3PM Monday. West to northwest winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles along Highway 191.
