425 AM MDT Sat Mar 29 2025

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Critical fire weather conditions due to a combination of low
humidity and gusty winds will return across the San Luis Valley, and
the southern I-25 corridor this afternoon and evening. Please avoid
fire starts as conditions will be favorable for rapid rates of fire
spread.

Rain and snow showers will diminish this morning across the
mountains and Pikes Peak region. Then showers and a few embedded
thunderstorms will redevelop this afternoon across the central
mountains and southeast plains as another weather disturbance moves
towards the region. The main risk from thunderstorms will be
lightning, brief moderate rainfall and gusty outflow winds up to 45
mph. More widespread rain and snow showers will develop tonight
bringing accumulations of up to 3 inches of snow to the central
mountains and the higher elevations of Pikes Peak. Brief slushy
accumulations of up to an inch will be possible on grassy surfaces
of the Palmer Divide with precipitation falling as rain across the
remainder of the southeast plains, especially north of highway 50.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

High elevation snow and lower elevation rainfall is possible
Sunday into Monday. Accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are forecast
along the Continental Divide, mainly north of Cottonwood Pass. A
dusting of snow is possible over the Palmer Divide Sunday night.

Elevated fire weather conditions are forecast on Monday for the
San Luis Valley and southern Interstate 25 corridor due to gusty
winds and low humidity values.

High winds are forecast to develop late Monday night and prevail
through Tuesday. Gusts in excess of 60 mph are possible. Areas of
blowing dust and strong cross winds on north-south highways are
possible. The strong winds will combine with low humidity values
to produce dangerous fire weather conditions across the Plains.

Periods of snow will continue through the end of the week over the
Mountains.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
TORNADO.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Primarily northeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...After 8 PM.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...Significant.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and portions of northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...After 7 PM.

AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Northeast Oklahoma.

SIGNIFICANT WINDS.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Mid morning.

FIRE WEATHER DANGER.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...West of Highway 75 in Northeast Oklahoma.
ONSET...Afternoon.

DISCUSSION...
Gusty winds and warm temperatures will raise grassland fire spread
rates this afternoon. Any fire starts could spread quickly.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop by early evening
from southern Kansas through central Oklahoma. These storms will
spread eastward and increase in coverage across northeast Oklahoma
during the evening into early morning hours. Severe weather is
likely for portions of northeast Oklahoma with large hail and
locally damaging winds possible. A limited risk of tornadoes will
accompany the early evening storms before the higher risk transitions
toward damaging winds as they spread toward northwest Arkansas
late tonight. Additional storms may spread into southeast
Oklahoma this evening, however uncertainty remains high in the
overall coverage and duration of storms across this region.
Should storms develop and persist then they will also pose a risk
of severe weather.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Activation of the Regional Spotter Network May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
SUNDAY...Thunderstorm and High Wind Potential.
MONDAY...No Hazards.
TUESDAY...Thunderstorm...High Fire Weather and High Wind Potential.
WEDNESDAY...Severe Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY...Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorm chances along with a risk of severe weather continues
on Sunday along and ahead of a passing cold front. Far eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas have the higher thunderstorm chances
Sunday afternoon with storms moving east of the region by Sunday evening.
Winds increase on Tuesday with a window for higher grassland fire
spread rates Tuesday afternoon. This will be in advance of the next
cold front which passes Tuesday night into Wednesday. A line of
thunderstorms with a risk of severe weather is expected to accompany
the passing cold front. The front is likely to stall near the Red
River by early Thursday and focus additional showers and thunderstorms
Thursday into Friday as it lifts northward as a warm front.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible during this time frame with details
in location and amounts to be refined in later forecasts.

Webster-Nuckolls-Thayer-
354 AM CDT Sat Mar 29 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and
portions of north central Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

- Thunderstorm potential:
Through this afternoon, at least spotty, isolated thunderstorm
activity is possible almost anywhere in our forecast area. The
vast majority of this activity should be weak, but perhaps capable
of producing small hail.

The primary threat zone for possible strong to severe storms this
afternoon should focus at least slightly east of our forecast
area altogether, although it`s not out of the question that the
initial development of a stronger storm could start off near the
far southeast edges of our area...perhaps near counties such as
Thayer, Jewell or Mitchell...before quickly departing off to the
east.

- Limited wintry precipitation potential:
This afternoon into this evening, it could get just cold enough
that a touch of snow or sleet could brush into the extreme
northwest edges of our Nebraska forecast area, perhaps affecting
counties such as Dawson and Valley. Any accumulation of wintry
precipitation in our area should be very minimal, with heavier
snow accumulation focusing farther off to the north and northwest
into the Sandhills.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

- Slight potential for a dusting of snow Sunday:
During the day Sunday, but mainly before Noon, a dusting of snow
cannot be ruled out mainly in western portions of our Nebraska
forecast area. Any snow that might fall should be of minimal
impact, and should melt off quickly as temperatures warm.

- Another strong low pressure system Tuesday-Tuesday night:
For most of the Monday through Friday time frame, the threat for
hazardous weather currently appears low. However, another strong
low pressure system could bring at least moderately-strong winds
and some thunderstorms to our area mainly Tuesday into Tuesday
night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters are encouraged to report any possible hail from spotty
thunderstorm activity today.
