Overview

A deep trough was in place over the eastern United States. An elongated front with low pressure was set up from the Gulf of Mexico to the southeast coast, with colder air residing behind over our area. Enough moisture thanks to better lift from upper jet stream developed further west, and brought snow to most areas along and east of the Blue Ridge mountains, with the highest amounts in the NC mountains and foothills.
