National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

Thunderstorms developed on the afternoon of Saturday, April 25, 2015 as a cold front approached the Quad State Region.  Some of the thunderstorms turned severe, including one wind-producing cell that tracked across southern Illinois into northwest Kentucky.

Damage surveys conducted the following day revealed most of the damage in Kentucky's Henderson County was caused by a thunderstorm downburst.  However, a brief tornado touchdown was also noted a few miles south of Corydon.  A survey conducted in southern Illinois on Monday revealed little additional impact to what has already been reported.

Below is a map that illustrates the location of the damage surveyed in Kentucky.  Summaries for both the downburst and tornado events are also provided.  A summary of reports from this event is listed at the bottom of this page.
