The National Weather Service forecast office in Upton, New York (Central Long Island) will relay official air quality information from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut state environmental agencies, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP), and Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP).

Unhealthy |
Everyone may begin experience health effects and sensitive groups more serious health effects. |
201-300 |
Very Unhealthy |
Health alert: everyone may experience more serious health effects. |
301-500 |
Hazardous |
Health warnings of emergency conditions. The entire population is more likely to be affected. |
