January 21, 2025
Summary of all Local Storm Reports (LSRs) of snow from December 21st, as well as all the LSRs across the region for this event.
STATS
Mobile, AL broke the all-time snowfall record with 7.5 inches of snow. The previous 1-day record for Mobile was 5 inches set back in 1881 and the all-time snow record for Mobile was 6 inches set during the 1895 snowstorm.
Pensacola, FL broke the 1-day and all-time snowfall record with 8.9 inches of snow. The previous record for Pensacola was 3 inches of snow set back in the 1895 snowstorm.
This snowstorm eclipsed the snow and ice totals from the historic 2014 event. More information on that event can be found in our event write-up.
Mobile, AL fell to 6ºF on January 22 (after the snow), which broke the daily low temperature record and tied for the 3rd coldest low temperature on record. This was only the 11th time that Mobile had recorded a single-digit low temperature. Pensacola, FL fell to 13ºF on January 22, which broke the daily low temperature record.
