Significant updates were made to several tornado tracks and wind swaths impacting the NWS Mobile/Pensacola area in the 2018 to 2023 timeframe thanks to the introduction of high-resolution Sentinel, Worldview, and Planet satellite imagery. One or multiple tornado tracks/wind swaths listed on this event webpage were updated in 2023.

1. November 1, 2018 - Updated Tornado - Choctaw County, AL Update: Upgraded this tornado from an EF0 tornado to an EF1 tornado and lengthened the track slightly based on a narrow path of numerous snapped and uprooted trees noted on Planet satellite imagery. The EF1 points occurred primarily in densely forested areas, largely inaccessible to the survey team.

Rating: EF-0 Estimated Peak Wind: 80 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.14 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: Nov 1 2018 Start Time: 708 AM CDT Start Location: 4 mi SE Gilbertown, AL Start Lat/Lon: 31.8361/-88.2647 End Date: Nov 1 2018 End Time: 709 AM CDT End Location: 4 mi SE Gilbertown, AL End Lat/Lon: 31.8378/-88.2635 Survey summary: A corridor of straight line wind damage was found starting near Highway 17 and Harrison Road and continuing northeast to County Road 8 and Barrytown Road. Significant tree damage was noted along portions of the path with winds estimated in the 60 to 80 mph range. There was a small, enhanced corridor of tree damage on County Road 8 where several large, healthy pine trees were snapped. Winds in this small area are estimated to have been between 90 to 100 mph. Just northeast of this enhanced damage, a small EF-0 tornado was found in a wooded area along Woodbine Road. In total, 5 houses and 3 barns were damaged, mainly from downed trees. It should be noted that most of the damage observed was from straight line winds. EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories.
