Current Status:  NOAA has been seeking alternative sites to maintain the former coverage pattern.  In doing so, NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) has identified a potential broadcast tower.  In the interim, NOAA along with the proposed site ownership are reviewing contractual terms and conditions, which includes respective Counsel reviews.

NOAA’s main concern with identifying and siting a new tower location is the possibility of a significant change in the coverage pattern. In this area, NOAA is limited due to a small number of tower facilities that meet minimum requirements.  If local emergency managers and other constituents have suggestions please feel free to contact our NWS St. Louis office as well as the NOAA Real Property office, accordingly.
