Arctic air moved into central Indiana late in January, dropping temperatures to below zero. Strong winds brought in the cold air and produced wind chills colder than 40 below zero.Temperatures

Indianapolis tied the record low for January 30 (-11 degrees, first set in 1966) and set a new record for coldest high temperature for January 30 (3 degrees, breaking the old record of 7 degrees set in 1966 and tied in 2004).
