Widespread light snow spread north across Kansas on December 15th and 16th.  The snow began across portions of south-central and southeast Kansas during the evening hours on the 15th, spreading north and reaching central Kansas shortly after midnight. Accumulating snow persisted through the morning of the 16th across a good portion of central and south-central Kansas, before ending during the afternoon hours. The highest accumulations occurred across central Kansas, where amounts reached 5 inches for several locations. Accumulations were lowest over southeast Kansas, where 1 to 2 inches occurred. Additionally, areas of light freezing rain and freezing drizzle laid down a light glaze of ice across portions of southeast Kansas on the 16th, as warmer air aloft spread over the  sub-freezing air at the surface.

December 15-16 snow accumulations.
