A late season winter storm tracked across the central Plains on Friday and Saturday (April 13th and 14th), bringing snowfall accumulations as much as 6 inches to central and south central Kansas.  This was the latest snowfall on record in many sites across the region, and will go down in the record books as a historical spring snow storm for this area.

 


One of the heavier areas of snow is coming down in Wichita in the  early morning hours of April 14th.

Large snowflakes are falling at the National Weather Service office in Wichita.
