August 9th-10th 2011 storms

Summary: Storms first developed over Western Nebraska during the afternoon hours of August 9th. These storms steadily plunged southeast throughout the late afternoon and evening hours, finally reaching central Kansas by 10 pm. These intense supercell thunderstorms were prolific wind and hail producers throughout their journey southeast. Across central Kansas these storms caused damaging 70-90 mph winds along with larger than golf ball size hail.
