Periods of snow will affect Marias Pass on Highway 2 today. Roadways could be snow covered and slippery at times, along with areas of poor driving visibility because of falling snow.
There is the potential for freezing rain on Friday. Right now, Friday afternoon is the best time for freezing rain to fall, and North Central MT is the most favored area. Even though rain amounts are low, it is enough rain that when freezes, it could ice over roadways.
Widespread snow across a large portion of Montana is possible this weekend. Locations in western Montana and along higher elevations have the highest chance of seeing at least an inch. Travel along mountain roads and passes may be difficult at times. Stay tuned for forecast updates and always check road and weather conditions before heading out.
