Dangerous Heat in the West; Coastal Flooding & High Rip Current Risk through the Weekend on the East Coast; Flash Flooding Concerns in the Southeast and Southwest

Expect increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms the next several days. Storms will have higher potential to produce heavy and potentially flooding rainfall over the weekend and into early weekend. This will be especially true over recent burn scars. Temperatures will begin to trend downward.
Dangerously hot temperatures are expected through Friday in the lower elevations of the Grand Canyon. Temperatures will then start to decrease over the weekend as rain chances and cloud cover increase.
Slow moving thunderstorms over recently burned areas in the Kaibab Plateau will lead to an elevated risk for flash flooding this weekend into early next week, and a Flash Flood Watch is in effect Saturday-Monday.
Monsoon moisture has pushed across all of Arizona. Conditions are setting up for the development of heavy showers and thunderstorms over the Dragon Bravo fire scar on Saturday through Monday.
