This is not an exhaustive list of all hotels in the area. Further details can be found at the Ann Arbor Convention and Visitor Bureau website: https://www.visitannarbor.org/
Please be aware that very few hotels are offering the government rate for all nights. We suggest that NOAA travelers request actual lodging expenses on their travel authorizations.

Travel Information (By air, auto, train, or bus)
NOTES:
State St. becomes State Rd. near the I-94 overpass. The entrance to GLERL is on the right (west) side of S. State Rd after you pass the Ann Arbor Airport, and just after you pass “Devon Self Storage” (also on your right). Do not be confused by a building labeled “4840” visible on the left (east) side of S. State Rd. opposite the entrance to GLERL's parking lot. That building is not actually on S. State Rd. and is not GLERL.
Walking between the hotels and GLERL is really not an option. Fortunately, many attendees will have cars, and we'll be able to carpool back and forth. Let me know via email if you need rides during the week and we'll set it up. If you will have a vehicle and are willing to shuttle people to/from the hotels and workshop, let me know that too.

Logistics
Please try to FAX your info to GLERL by April 15th. The clearance process usually only takes a few days.
For NOAA travelers, there is no group travel approval required for this workshop. So you can go ahead and make hotel/travel reservations, and begin drafting your Trip Authorizations. The government rate for area hotels is $111 per night. If the hotel comes in a little above that (some have seasonal rates starting in May), specify approval for "actual cost" in your Travel Authorizations.
For those using the NWS AFSO funds for travel, that accounting code will be coming in a separate email to those that requested this funding.
For those interested, there will be Box Lunches for each day of the workshop. This is voluntary, but for those who do participate you will be responsible for paying for your orders when you sign in Tuesday morning (May 3). A menu will be provided via email after April 1 and you'll be asked to respond and make selections for each day you are there. If you are participating, remember to bring cash.
For presenters, please email your presentations (either Powerpoint or PDF format) to Greg Mann (greg.mann@noaa.gov) by COB April 27th. If the presentation is too large to email, contact Greg (248-625-3309 ext 766) and we will figure out a way.
There will be a handful of remote presenters for the workshop. During the afternoon of Thursday April 28, we'll test out the webinar capability for each remote presenter to make sure it all works well for everyone. I'll be in touch with each of you to set up a time to do this. If your schedule doesn't allow this, let me know and we'll work out an alternative.
