Unsettled Weather in the West; Marine and Coastal Impacts Along the East Coast

A series of Pacific fronts will bring periodic waves of showers and thunderstorms to parts of the Great Basin and Pacific Northwest the next few days. Swells, high surf, dangerous rip currents and areas of coastal flooding continue along much of the East Coast from both Humberto and Imelda. Do you notice a yellowish hue to the sky on Monday? Believe it or not, it's from massive forest fires in central and northern Canada! With northwest winds today, the smoke was carried southeastward into the Northland. The smoke is far up in the atmosphere and you may not even be able to smell it, but it is causing the yellowish hue to the sky. Do you see it where you live?

June 8 2015 Canadian Forest Fires bringing Smoke filled skies
