The National Weather Service in Cleveland OH has confirmed straight
Line Wind Damage south of Kipton in Lorain County Ohio on 
November 5, 2017.

A National Weather Service Storm Survey team toured several
locations of damage south of US 20 between the Huron-Lorain County
Line and State Route 511. At least six structures beginning near 
the intersection of Gore-Orphanage Road and Betts Road, northeast
to Baird Road, and onward to State Route 511 suffered straight
line wind damage. All of the buildings surveyed had a west-facing
garage door, which became compromised when the damaging winds went
through the area, and in turn allowed for additional damage to the
structure. Debris was lofted downwind at each site in a divergent
pattern and only stopped once it reached a treeline at the end of
each property.

A microburst is a convective downdraft with an affected outflow
area of less than 2 1/2 miles wide and peak winds lasting less
than 5 minutes. Microbursts may induce dangerous horizontal and
vertical wind shears, which can adversely affect aircraft
performance and cause property damage. Straight-line winds are
generally any wind that is not associated with rotation, used
mainly to differentiate them from tornadic winds.
