LOCATION...MAHONING COUNTY (CANFIELD TOWNSHIP) DATE...JULY 8 2014 ESTIMATED TIME...2:15 PM EDT MAXIMUM EF-SCALE RATING....EF1 ESTIMATED WIND SPEED...90 MPH MAX PATH WIDTH...800 YARDS PATH LENGTH...5.0 MILES BEGINNING LAT/LON 41.023/-80.829 ENDING LAT/LON 41.053/-80.737 SUMMARY... A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE SOCIETY OF ST PAUL ON W AKRON-CANFIELD ROAD AND MOVED EAST-NORTHEAST THROUGH CANFIELD TOWNSHIP AND THE CITY OF CANFIELD AND FINALLY LIFTING NEAR S RACCOON ROAD IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF CANFIELD TOWNSHIP. ABOUT 10 HOMES WERE DAMAGED WITH TREES ON SEVERAL HOUSES AND A COUPLE OF GARAGES WERE HEAVILY DAMAGED. THE STORM TRACKED FOR NEARLY 5 MILES WITH A MAXIMUM WIDTH OF 800 YARDS AND ESTIMATED WIND SPEED OF 90 MPH. |
