Atmospheric River in California; Fire Weather Concerns in the Central Plains

An atmospheric river will continue to bring gusty to high winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and potential flooding to California through Saturday. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect from 3 PM Thursday to 9 PM Friday for all Pacific Coast beaches. An increased risk of sneaker waves and rip currents is to be expected with breaking waves of 13 to 18 feet with the highest waves up to 23 feet in favored locations. Stay off of waterside infrastructure and never turn your back on the ocean!
