If you are planning on running around this weekend. Be prepared for hot daytime temperatures. Know the signs of Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke. If you see or experience any signs or symptoms of Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke, don't hesitate to seek medical help.
Daytime highs Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be in the upper 90s to near 100°F. River temperatures are in the 60s to 70s as well as moving fast. These two factors can easily lead to a potentially hazardous scenario if you go unprepared. Bring a Life Jacket!
Attention boaters! River levels at the Columbia and Willamette Rivers in the Portland/Vancouver Metro Area are forecast to drop below 1 foot during low tide this week. Use caution in shallow areas!
The next five days will be hot for inland areas, with triple digit temperatures likely Friday & Saturday afternoon for the Portland/Vancouver metro, Cascade foothills and much of the Willamette Valley. Overnight low temperatures will also be running rather warm, offering minimal relief at night. Be sure to stay cool and hydrated and check on those without air conditioning.
