Lake-effect Snow and Whiteout Conditions in the Great Lakes Region; Below-average Temperatures in the East

Heavy lake-effect and lake-enhanced snow will persist downwind of the Great Lakes and produce some whiteout conditions that could cause difficult travel conditions. A coastal low will produce moderate to heavy snow over parts of southern and eastern New England into the afternoon. Another front will bring a round of light snow and breezy conditions to the region tonight into Tuesday. Around 2 inches of snow are possible across the higher terrain along the Yellowstone River valley. As winds increase from the northwest in the afternoon, blowing snow will become a travel concern. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for this area from 2am to 5pm Tuesday.
