Overview

FROM THE NOVEMBER 1966 STORM DATA PUBLICATION: A record early season snowfall affected most localities in the Mid-State. Heavy, wet snow totaled from 3 to 6 inches in southern counties to as much as 12 inches in northern sections of Middle Tennessee and Cumberland Plateau area. Many schools were closed or dismissed early due to hazardous driving conditions on bridges, overpasses and roads. Minor traffic accidents and some damage to roofs and late crops occurred. Extensive damage was inflicted on trees and shrubbery still carrying their autumn foliage.
