A Wind Advisory will be in effect for the Mojave Desert Slopes in Kern County from 5 PM this afternoon through 4 AM tomorrow morning with wind gusts up to 50 mph.
A few strong thunderstorms are possible in the Sierra Nevada and adjacent foothills from 12 PM PDT Friday afternoon until 8 PM PDT Friday evening. Small hail and wind gusts near 45 miles per hour are a couple of hazards associated with thunderstorms. In addition to dangerous cloud to ground lightning strikes, any thunderstorm can produce intense rainfall rates, leading to localized flooding.
We are looking at the potential for thunderstorms this afternoon in the Sierra Nevada and foothills. Here are some sensory safety tips if you do get thunderstorms and especially if you have Autistic individuals with you.
Here is the latest Sky cover forecast for Monday night for the Lyrids Meteor Shower. A few clouds are expected but mostly clear conditions in the San Joaquin Valley.
